BC Touring Council is honoured to support C.A.R.E., the Canadian Artists for Reconciliation and Education. C.A.R.E. is a newly formed non-profit society that came together after the revelation of unmarked graves at Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc in May of 2021. The purpose of the society is to hold safe spaces for Indigenous People to share their stories while educating the public in all matters of the truth regarding the injustices against Indigenous Peoples of Canada.
C.A.R.E. hosts monthly Sharing Circles with guest musicians, artists, elders, knowledge keepers and other Indigenous Peoples’. They are invited to share their stories and knowledge about Indigenous issues. Past guests include Keilani Rose, Michelle Good, Curtis Clearsky, Phyllis Webstad, Meeka Morgan, and more. The sessions are in-person where possible, but always online so they are free and accessible. Everyone is welcome and invited to learn, listen or engage in the conversation.
