Where does Pacific Contact take place?
Pacific Contact 2024 will be held from April 10 to 14, 2024 and will take place for the first time in Kelowna, BC at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna Community Theatre, Metro Hub and The Laurel Packinghouse. All venues are within a short walking distance of each other.
Hotel Guest Room Bookings
We have a block of rooms reserved at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort in the heart of downtown and the centre of the cultural district in Kelowna. The hotel is offering delegates the special conference rate of $249 plus tax. This rate is only available until Wednesday, March 13, so book soon to avoid disappointment. Is there a deadline for booking accommodation at conference rates?
The deadline for booking accommodation at conference rates is Wednesday, March 13 A limited number of rooms are available at a conference rate. It is recommended you book your accommodation as soon as possible. For more info about the hotel click here.
When can I register for the conference?
Online registration is available beginning Monday, January 8.
How do I register?
Regular rates for registration will be available on the BCTC website in January until March 22. After March 22 all rates increase by $50. There is no onsite registration at the conference.
What does my registration for the conference include?
Registration includes access to all showcases, meetings and workshops. Delegates also receive a conference package, which includes a conference program guide.
Can I purchase meals at the conference?
This year we will have two catered lunches, one catered evening meal, one Gala Awards Dinner. Delegates will need to purchase tickets for the meals in addition to their conference pass. There will be one full meal deal pass available to purchase. There will also be one evening coordinated dine around and two meals on your own.
Is there a deadline for refunds in case I register and am unable to attend?
All refunds are subject to a $50 administrative fee. Full registration fee refund (minus $50/admin charge) will be available up until March 22, 2024. Starting March 23, 50% will be refunded and no registration refunds will be made after March 31. By registering for the conference you agree with this policy regardless of the method of payment. All meal purchases are non-refundable.
Will you confirm my registration?
BCTC will send out a receipt for payment after you register. Final confirmation of registration will be sent to you in late March with full details of your registration.
Do I need to register for workshops prior to the conference?
Registered delegates are not required to register for workshops happening during the conference. However, the Professional Development workshop on Wednesday, April 10 requires registration and paid for in addition to the conference.
Where do I go when I arrive at the hotel?
Registered delegates should go to the Pacific Contact Registration Desk located in Rotary Centre for the Arts Lobby to pick up a conference package and badge. The Rotary Centre for the Arts is located across the street from the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort.
What will my conference package include?
Registered delegates receive a conference package. This package includes a badge with name and organization, Pacific Contact program with showcase artists schedule and descriptions, schedule and other conference information, list of delegates, and tickets for meals purchased.
Who will book my travel or accommodation?
You are responsible for looking after your own travel and accommodation for the conference.
Where do showcases take place?
Showcases take place at the the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna Community Theatre, and Metro Hub. The hotel will be the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort, all the venues are in close walking distance to the hotel. Delegates must wear their conference badges to access the showcases at the theatre and the Contact Room.
How will I get to and from showcases?
This year all the conference venues are within very close walking distance of the conference hotel so we will not provide transportation to or from the showcase venues. How do I sign up for the one-to-one meetings?
One-to-one meetings are scheduled on Saturday, April 13 and are open to artists, agents, managers and presenters who are registered for the conference. Based on the “speed dating” format, the one-to-ones are a series of 5-7-minute lightning meetings giving artists, agents, artistic companies the chance to meet numerous talent festival, venue and community presenters and rekindle existing relationships or spark new ones.
