Aspiring Emerging Associates Initiative
From the Spring of 2015 to the Spring of 2021, BCTC delivered the Aspiring Emerging Associates Initiative (AEA), a partnership program with the Province of BC and the BC Arts Council. The program was intended to build creative skills and capacity in performing arts touring for aspiring emerging artists, agents, managers, and associates. Programs included On the Road Touring Workshop & Learning Labs Series, Warming up the Act, Youth Hubs Initiatives and the Next Gen.
BC Touring Council Annual Awards
Current members of the BC Touring Council are invited to nominate eligible members in categories of Touring Artist/Company, Presenter and Agent/Manager of the Year. Awards will be presented annually at Pacific Contact.
Block Booking
The overall objective of block booking is the collegial effort to work cooperatively to book more artists in communities throughout British Columbia. As a membership benefit presenters, artists, artistic companies, agents and managers are provided with access to updated interest lists, as well as invited to participate in meetings to discuss interest and possible tours.
Community Presenters Assistance Program
The Community Presenters Assistance is a program of the British Columbia Arts Council and is administered by the BC Touring Council. Information and application process.
Into the Act
Into the Act (formerly Warming up the Act) provides financial assistance to presenters in BC to create opportunities for aspiring emerging BC artists from all disciplines and genres. The program is intended to provide BC based aspiring emerging artists with opportunities to work with presenters and other artists in a professional environment, to reach new audiences and gain practical experience and knowledge about touring and presenting in BC.

Meetings
BCTC coordinates and hosts a number of network meetings both on-line and in person. Meetings for facility managers, job alike (e.g. box office, front of house, marketing), artist/artistic companies and agent/managers are held in-person annually at Pacific Contact. BCTC also coordinates meetings throughout the year for facility managers, hosts regional meetings, as well as hosts weekly Town Hall meetings via Zoom for members and guests.
New Performance Hubs
New Performance Hubs (formerly Youth Hubs Initiatives) invites proposals from BC-based non-profit organizations to support projects that engage emerging artists in performing arts in hubs around the province. Youth hubs include unique performing opportunities that demonstrate how emerging artists engage in arts events and how technology is used in performance-based work. The program supports innovative projects that focus on live performance targeting presenting and other performing arts organizations that work with emerging artists. This includes IBPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, Indigenous and other diverse organizations with a special effort to reach those in the more rural and remote areas of the province.
